Listen, I get it! I completely understand. You want to know why you need my services.

Well, let’s talk about it. Mentoring is another tool in your professional kit to propel you to the Next Level in your career. My guidance isn’t going to take anything from you. My guidance is here to assist you in every way possible to empower yourself and reach new dimensions in your field.

What is a Nurse Mentor?

Simply put, a Nurse Mentor is a professional coach that you can trust. Similar to a guidance counselor or a preceptor. However, this person is going to strategically support you with setting career goals, selecting practice areas, academic support, and even role modeling-all related to your Nursing profession.

Why do you need a Mentor?

Role transition and practice setting changes are known to be two of the most difficult turning points for nurses to master. Role transition is exceptionally challenging when you don’t have a blueprint-a role model to shape your assimilation of the role. Practice setting changes are critically grueling when you are stepping out of your comfort zone or just attempting a completely foreign skill. Having a mentor is key to navigating some of these difficult transitions because your mentor has been where you’ve been and they have gone where you are going. Mentors share their knowledge, encouragement, and advice to thrust you toward professional growth and even personal development. Mentors create a new avenue for you to take a better path to success.

You need a mentor because you want to PROSPER! You want to succeed in your career. You want to move forward-and your mentor is going to help you do it. They have blazed the trail, stumbled through the pitfalls and conquered the obstacles. Your mentor is going to help you visualize your future. They are here to help you make your dream a reality.

It is a simple as this. Every successful individual has had a mentor at some point in their career-and you are no exception. To achieve the level of greatness that you want you will need the provision of an expert. TO GET WHERE YOU WANT TO GO-MENTORSHIP IS THE WAY!

How does Mentorship work?

Be advised that you are entering a partnership-a collaboration. Together you will discover your assets, empower your strengths, and create an achievable goal plan that will push you into the next level of your professional journey. You are embarking on a new and closely woven professional relationship. This connection must be genuine, open, and trust is going to have to be established. For mentorship to work, you (the “mentee”), must be willing to share honest information and use positive communication skills. Likewise, your mentor needs to be accessible, respectful, and inspiring. Both of you must agree on the terms and conditions of the partnership. Both of you must engage in a synchronous exchange of building your professionalism. This is a team effort. Understand that your personalities, communication styles, and nursing values need to match for harmony to form. It’s okay to seek mentors that you “vibe” with, that understands you and that you feel a sense of connection with.

How Do you get started?

First, ask yourself these three questions:

  1. Are you ready to grow and improve as a professional Nurse?

  2. Are you committed to being accountable for your mentorship journey?

  3. Are you willing to set aside time to work on achieving your goals?
